Bad Dogs Inspire Poetic Genius

Thanks to our friend and Washington DC resident, Anne Russell, for her brilliant Facebook group -- Bad Dog Haikus. According to Anne, this group is "dedicated to Lola and all other good dogs who sometimes, just sometimes, do things worthy of memorializing in haiku..." Lola, the Haiku Muse, is an awesome Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, with one of those kooky, quirky personalities you can't help but love. Here is a sampling of some of our favorites:

Sniffing in your purse
I found a hundred dollars
leafy greens to eat

Did I upset you?
I just wanted a chew toy
and your iPhone rang

While my human's out
I spew garbage through the house.
Redecorating.

"Sit!" "Down!" "Stay!" "Heel!" "NOOOO!" ...
My owner says them again.
La-La! Don’t hear you!!

Is the dog in your life making you pull your hair out sometimes? Well, we have two helpful tips for dealing with these occasionally "bad dogs":
  1. Let your creativity go wild, while you vent at Bad Dog Haiku
  2. Bring your "bad dog" to our Doggy Day Camp to burn that extra energy, while you are at work or just at home protecting your purse, iPhone and other valuables :)

Meet Lola & Charo

cuchi - cuchi!
These Chihuahuas are too-cute-for words and two of our favorites here at Best Friends. The little lovelies are pictured sharing the cot in their suite, mugging for the camera. Lola and Charo have been visiting each month since July for a short stay and what a treat it is to have them. The smooth-coat gal, giving her nose a cleaning...that's Lola. And Charo? Well, she's the one who looks like she's sporting a mohair sweater...but people, that's the real deal. She has the most awesome natural coat. Looking at these two, you just cannot help but smile.
